Shop the Severna Park Farmers Market
The Severna Park Farmers Market runs every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at the Park and Ride lot near Ritchie Highway and Jones Station Road.

The market operates rain or shine and features local produce, flowers, plants, meats, eggs, baked goods, prepared foods, pickles, honey, and other locally produced items. The 2026 season continues through October 31.
Several vendors have participated for decades, giving the market a consistency many seasonal markets lack. Shoppers can expect a mix of familiar producers and newer food businesses throughout the season.

Visit the Kinder Farmhouse Museum
The Kinder Farmhouse Museum will open to the public on Saturday, August 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The farmhouse offers a closer look at the agricultural history of the property and the families connected to it. The museum sits within Kinder Farm Park, making it easy to combine the visit with a walk, picnic, or time exploring the park grounds.
Kinder Farm Park spans 288 acres and includes walking and biking trails, picnic areas, farm animals, fishing areas, playgrounds, and other recreational facilities. The park opens daily at 7 a.m. and closes at dusk.

Take a Hayride Through Kinder Farm Park
The Friends of Kinder Farm Park will host their next public hayride on Saturday, August 22, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Hayrides depart from the front of the Visitors Center. Tickets cost $5 per person, with children ages three and younger admitted free. Online purchases include additional processing fees.
This is one of the more family-friendly local activities scheduled for the second half of August. Families can pair the ride with a visit to the playground, farm animals, walking trails, or picnic areas.

Watch Local Blacksmiths at Work
On Sunday, August 23, members of the Chesapeake Forge Blacksmith Guild will demonstrate traditional metalworking at the Kinder Farm Park Blacksmith Shop.
The demonstration runs from 1 to 4 p.m. Visitors can watch guild members forge metal using traditional tools and techniques.
This is a smaller event, but it offers something different from the typical summer festival or outdoor concert. It also provides another reason to explore the historic and agricultural areas of the park.

Spend a Morning on the B&A Trail
The Baltimore and Annapolis Trail remains one of the easiest ways to enjoy Severna Park without committing to a scheduled event.
The paved trail follows the former Baltimore and Annapolis Railroad corridor and runs for approximately 13 miles between the Annapolis area and Glen Burnie. A significant portion passes through Severna Park.
Walkers, runners, and cyclists can access the trail from several points throughout the community. Early mornings tend to offer cooler temperatures during August, particularly for longer walks or rides.
The trail does not need to serve as the theme of the entire month. It works because residents can use it whenever their schedules allow.
